General FAQ:

Q: What role does ageing and lifestyle play in gaining weight?

A: Contrary to popular opinion, your body weight is not determined solely by the number of calories you take in. Most people find that keeping weight off gets harder as you get older. This is due to the tremendous hormonal changes that occur during ageing. These changes not only can cause you to gain more weight but can also have an effect on mood and energy levels. Making matters worse, the modern lifestyle people live today contributes greatly to weight gain. The chronic stress that many people experience leads to an increase in the stress hormone cortisol. When cortisol levels remain elevated for long periods of time (chronic stress), you may perceive more hunger and over-eating is a common result.

Q: Why does fat accumulate around the belly, thighs, buttocks, and arms?

A: How much weight you gain, and where it ends up accumulating, is determined by your hormone levels. As people age and engage in poor lifestyle choices, changes in hormone levels cause your body to take on a different form. Men who have a V shape and women who have an hourglass shape can see their bodies resemble apple or pear shaped forms.

Q: Is there a relationship between excess body fat and symptoms such as fatigue, low sex drive, and depression?

A: Yes. Excess fat deposits are biologically active. It is in your fat deposits that your body stores toxins that it could not excrete or metabolize. These toxins can then send signals that are disruptive to your body’s normal function.

Q: Can I lose weight and keep it off without addressing detoxification, hormonal issues, and neurotransmitter levels?

A: No. This is why traditional weighloss plans fail. You can lose weight and inches off of your waist, but unless you correct for the underlying issues you will just gain it all back. People who have only a little excess body fat and are otherwise healthy may be able to address these issues through eating healthy and working out, but those people who have more body fat to lose and present with symptoms will need to take a more comprehensive approach.

.HCG FAQ:

Q: How does HCG work for losing weight?

A: HCG utilizes a mechanism that develops in pregnant women to protect the fetus from starvation in times of famine. When the body realizes that it is not getting enough food, HCG triggers the hypothalamus to start using stored fat as fuel. Without HCG the body’s normal response is to assume that it is starving. And the body will respond by slowing the body’s metabolism and storing fat to ensure survival.

Q: What can be expected?

A: The amount of weight loss that can be expected will vary from individual to individual, but 20 to 25 pounds is common on a full cycle. In addition to the pounds lost the body will begin to reshape itself into the classical V shape in men and the hour glass shape in women.

Q: Will I be hungry on the HCG diet?

A: Some hunger can be expected. However, as long as you are consistent in following the diet you will find that the hunger will pass quickly and should be quite manageable. Although 500 calories a day seems low, you must remember that you body is feeding off of your excess fat reserves. The vast majority of our patients indicate they were either not hungry or they felt in control with surprisingly little hunger and had plenty of energy.

Q: Can men use HCG?

A: Yes! HCG is not a sex hormone, and its effects are the same in men as it is in women.

Q: Can HCG cause a masculinization of women?

A: No. HCG does not masculinize a woman or feminize a man.

Q: What is the difference between homeopathic HCG drops and HCG injections?

A: We do not offer homeopathic drops because we do not believe they are as effective as the injections. We follow the original protocol outlined by Dr Simeons himself which called for Intra-Muscular injections.

Detoxification FAQ:

Q: What are the benefits of detoxification?

Modern living has greatly increased the amount of toxins we are exposed to. Most of the cosmetics, cleaning products, and even foods contain toxins that stay in the body and alter normal body function. Everything from appetite to your mood can be affected.

Abnormal fat deposits are also responsible for converting more testosterone to estrogen. This excess estrogen, also called estrogen dominance, is responsible for weigh gain, anxiety, mood swings, and lower sex drive.

Detoxifying the body is the first step towards recovering the normal function of your body. After eliminating these toxins, you can expect to see many of the negative symptoms start to diminish. Without the extra stimulus from these toxins, your body is better able to regulate body functions such as appetite and metabolism.

Q: Who should consider detoxification?

A: Detoxification should be considered for all people with excess fat deposits and people presenting with clinical symptoms such as fatigue, low sex drive, and mood disorders.

Q: Are there any benefits to detoxification while on the HCG diet?

A: Yes. HCG weightloss specifically targets abnormal fat deposits where toxins tend to accumulate. Losing this body fat and not accounting for the toxins that are then liberated will result in these toxins recalculating throughout the body and causing negative effects along the way.
